Focus: Digital & Internet of Food

For the duration of Expo Milano 2015, StartUp Initiative will organise a series of Investor Arena meetings focused on food technologies and sustainability, echoing the themes of the universal exposition.

These meetings are great opportunities to get in touch with potential investors, business partners or ecosystem players interested in qualified deal flow and business development opportunities. They are high-profile, technology-specific events, concluding months of preparatory work: from the selection of the best startups, to coaching to strengthen the ability to raise money and business development.

The first of these meetings will take place on Thursday May 21 2015, starting 11 a.m. till 14 p.m., at Intesa Sanpaolo Pavilion, "The Waterstone", Expo Milan and will see seven startups active in digital food technologies: web and app; order and payment services; e-commerce; digital distribution and delivery; marketing; and the internet of things.

The companies present at this meeting are:

• Buono Vending, which design, manufacture and market innovative packaging and vending systems in the ice cream sector;
• Eattiamo, promoting a network of small size Italian excellent food producers;
• La Comanda, which proposes a “magic button” to order pizza delivery at home with a simple click from your refrigerator;
• Paisan, an e-commerce website that sells superb authentic100% Italian food while fighting imitators;
• Robonica, which designs hydroponic stylish boxes that one can monitor from a smartphone;
• Tasteet, an online service that allows diners to discover new restaurants based on the dish they want to eat;
• Viveat, a software that connects producers and consumers thanks to a label applied to the food which interacts with a smartphone.
